Oyster Bay TodayWe designed and developed a tourism website for the Town of Oyster Bay, on Long Island. The website is an engaging, educational online tool for prospective visitors, residents, business owners and all others seeking information about the Town.
Brief of
Design Journey
We developed unique page designs for essential pages like Things to Do, Food and Drink, and Shop Local. Promoting local businesses and events was a key requirement of this project. To achieve this goal, we created a business spotlight feature that allows visitors to learn about local shops and restaurants, watch a video, see the business on a map, and easily contact the business to schedule an appointment or reservation. We also developed a robust calendar feature that allows people to filter events by categories, including “Concerts and Movies,” “Parades, Fairs and Festivals,” and “Kids Corner” (among others).

Throughout the website, we implemented sea-inspired iconography in calming beachy colors. The hand-drawn feeling contributes to the boutique, small-town feel visitors can expect when visiting Oyster Bay.
Results
The day the website launched, it received over 10,000 visitors! Since then, Oyster Bay Today regularly receives email sign-ups and continues to expand their portfolio of local business spotlights!
