project overview

Ocean County Health Department

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of its Department of Public Health, we created an awareness campaign that highlighted and celebrated the myriad units and services that keep Ocean County healthy. The campaign’s goals included raising public awareness of OCHD’s various units and teams, as well as the services and programs they offer. For particular units of services (e.g. WIC, vaccinations, pet adoptions, or rabies clinics), a secondary goal was to encourage public engagement.

brief of
design journey

The campaign’s primary message presented public health as a responsibility shared by all residents and a collaboration between the County government and the community it represents. Our imagery addressed cultural sensitivities for unique segments of the County’s population by using images of relevant objects, rather than people. We also used striking imagery and colors to distinguish the campaign and its ads from the traditional aesthetic of most PSA marketing.
