Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Inc. Announces “Hearts for Hospice Care” Campaign

NEWBURGH, NY- Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc. is kicking off its “Hearts for Hospice Care” campaign to raise awareness and funds for patients and their families who are in need of hospice services. The heart of this campaign is to be a supporter and a friend to a person at the end of life. The campaign will run in February and March with the help from all of you.

Collected donations will go towards providing a positive and comfortable experience to end-of-life care. Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties is your Hospice. Your support helps to ensure hospice services continue for those in need in our local communities. Hospice provides support and care for people in the final stages of an incurable illness so that they may live as fully and comfortably as possible. Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties goal is to enrich a person’s quality of life, as life’s journey nears its completion. Through supportive, loving care, Hospice offers patients and their families’ comfort for the body, mind and spirit.

The “Hearts for Hospice Care” allows a person to not only donate funds but also to donate their time. Hospice offers various areas of volunteering within their organization. Volunteers are important members of the hospice team providing support to persons on hospice and their family either at home, in nursing homes or at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence. Volunteers can also provide office support at both Newburgh and Middletown locations. Hospice Volunteer Spring Training begins in March.

Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc. was incorporated in 1988 as an outgrowth of an initial effort in 1981 by three community nurses to provide much-needed support to individuals with terminal illnesses. In 1993, then Hospice of Orange in the Hudson Valley began serving patients in Sullivan County, subsequently becoming Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc. They are certified by the NYS Department of Health and The Joint Commission.
