Content Management Systems

A Content Management System, or CMS, is a software application that makes it easy to create, manage, and edit web content. There are many advantages to building your website with a CMS, such as the variety of SEO, security, and other functionality modules. The most important advantage, however, is the minimal learning curve required to administer content. If you frequently update your web content but aren’t a developer, a CMS provides a strong foundation for your website’s infrastructure.

At a base level, a CMS provides an approachable interface for you to manage the back-end of your website. Every CMS contains two parts. The content management application (CMA) is the user-friendly component that allows you to add or manage content. The content delivery application (CDA) is the invisible, back-end process that organizes, stores and delivers your content to visitors. Together, these two components facilitate the process of adding, storing, managing, and categorizing your web content.

Here’s how we transform a CMS

into your bespoke website.

Customizing
Your Content Management System

In addition to the basic functions of adding and storing content, Content Management Systems use special software options, called modules or plugins, to fine tune the website’s functionality.

These modules provide additional services like security measures, SEO, social media integration, e-commerce, contact forms, and more. Our team of developers will customize your website by installing highly-rated modules from reputable builders that match your web development needs. We can also modify these modules to meet your requirements.

Once the CMS has been tailored for your website, our development team will integrate it with the front-end design. This will ensure your brand is uniform across print and digital media. After the website launch, we can also provide maintenance services to minimize the risk of cyberattacks and malfunction.

Choosing
The Right CMS

Our developers work in the three leading CMS platforms, namely WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal. Based on your website’s needs, we’ll recommend the CMS we think is right for you.

WordPress

WordPress is by far the most common Content Management System, powering approximately 35% of the Internet. Of the options we provide, WordPress is also the most user-friendly because of its convenient text editor and dashboard. Further, it offers over 50,000 plugins to streamline the build process. For this reason, WordPress might be the best option for cost and time efficiency, depending on your project specifications.

Take our website for example, which we built in WordPress.

Joomla

Joomla offers many of the same benefits as WordPress, like a user-friendly text editor and a large library of established modules. You might think of Joomla as an intermediary between WordPress and Drupal. Whereas WordPress requires very little technical knowledge and Drupal requires a lot, Joomla falls somewhere in the middle. It allows for more customization options that WordPress, but still has a relatively small learning curve.

Drupal

If you’re a government entity or a company that offers specialized services online, Drupal might be the best solution for you. Because Drupal allows more complex customization, it requires more technical expertise, which is where our development team comes in. In addition to customizing your site’s functionality, our team can create materials to teach your in-house personnel how to efficiently manage content in your Drupal-based website after its launch.
